Finnish Expertise in Energy Education

Nigeria’s Power Training Institute Explores Finnish Expertise in Energy Education

Nordic Bridge Partner, in collaboration with leading Finnish institutions, has announced that the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) will embark on an Executive Study Tour to Finland from November 3 to 8, 2025.

The programme, themed “Finnish Excellence in Vocational Energy Training and Innovation,” will take place across the Helsinki and Vaasa regions and aims to strengthen NAPTIN’s leadership capacity and expand collaboration in vocational energy training and innovation. “We are delighted to host the NAPTIN delegation and to continue building a partnership that looks to the future,” said Francis Otuoba, Co-CEO and Future Architect of Nordic Bridge Partner AB. “By bringing together Finnish innovation and Nigerian expertise, we are not only sharing knowledge — we are shaping a new model of collaboration that drives sustainable energy growth across continents.”

The five-day Executive Study Tour will immerse NAPTIN’s management in Finland’s renowned ecosystem of vocational education and clean energy innovation.

Beginning in the Helsinki region, the delegation will engage with Omnia Education Partners in Espoo to experience Finland’s approach to practical, work-based learning in the technical and energy sectors. The participants will also gain insight into how advanced data technologies and digital platforms enhance planning, efficiency, and sustainability across complex infrastructure projects with TerraSolid and InfraKit, two Finnish innovators driving digital transformation in infrastructure and energy systems.

Continuing to Vaasa, widely regarded as Finland’s energy capital, the delegation will be hosted by the Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK). Through sessions organized in collaboration with local businesses like the Vaasa Region Energy Company (VASEK), Merinova Technology Center and Danfoss Plc, participants will gain firsthand insight into how academic institutions, industry, and technology innovators cooperate to advance clean energy solutions and workforce development.

The tour will culminate in high-level engagements at Aalto University, where discussions will focus on innovation, applied research, and the integration of sustainable technologies into modern energy systems. The team will also meet with Teraloop, a Finnish pioneer in kinetic energy storage, to explore how emerging technologies are shaping the future of renewable power systems.

Through this executive study tour, we aim to demonstrate how strategic collaboration and applied innovation can translate into measurable impact,” said Petri Saarinen, Senior Management Advisor, Nordic Bridge Partner. “Finland offers a living example of how vocational education, research, and technology can work in synergy. We expect this experience to inspire actionable pathways for NAPTIN and its partners as they modernize Nigeria’s energy training framework.”
