Nordic Bridge Partner AB (NBP) has signed a landmark contract with the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) to facilitate an Executive Study Tour in Finland, a move expected to strengthen Nigeria’s power sector through global exposure and knowledge exchange.
The program, scheduled to run for one week, will bring NAPTIN executives face-to-face with leading power institutions, cutting-edge training centers, and internationally renowned energy experts in Finland. It is designed to create a platform for Nigeria to tap into innovative practices, explore new power deals, and adapt global best practices to the country’s electricity challenges.
The Co-CEO of NBP, Francis Otuoba confirmed that the collaboration is part of its broader mission to bridge Africa and Europe through strategic partnerships and transformative learning. According to him, this will be achieved by connecting Nigerian power professionals with the Nordic energy ecosystem. The initiative aims to enhance skills, encourage sustainable solutions, and support Nigeria’s long-term ambition of expanding its generation capacity.
Speaking on the development, Francis expressed excitement at the possibilities the partnership unlocks. “We are proud to work closely with NAPTIN to strengthen Nigeria’s power sector. Through this program, we are creating a knowledge bridge that will not only provide immediate insights but also open doors for long-term cooperation in energy development,” the company stated.
The tour is also expected to help NAPTIN expand its role as Nigeria’s premier power training institute, aligning local talent with international expertise at a time when the country is seeking fresh approaches to tackle persistent electricity shortages. Industry observers note that Finland, with its reputation for clean energy innovation and reliable power systems, offers a valuable model for Nigerian stakeholders looking to transform the sector.
For NBP, the agreement reinforces its commitment to fostering collaboration between African institutions and global players. The company has consistently advocated for practical solutions to Africa’s power challenges, emphasizing that exposure to advanced systems abroad can inspire new strategies at home.

Analysts say the tour could also pave the way for future bilateral agreements in renewable energy, infrastructure investment, and capacity building. With Nigeria’s population and energy demand rising steadily, experts believe partnerships such as this could accelerate the country’s quest for stable and sustainable electricity.
The signing of the contract marks a significant milestone not only for NAPTIN and NBP but also for Nigeria’s energy future. By investing in human capital and international cooperation, the program highlights a clear step toward closing the gap between Nigeria’s current power supply and its long-term energy goals.
