Nordic Bridge Partner AB (NBP), in close cooperation with the Vaasa Region Development Company VASEK, is preparing to welcome a diverse African delegation to Vaasa Energy Week 2026.
Following the earlier announcement of the initiative, new details now highlight the specific interests and sectoral priorities that will shape the delegation’s first collective visit to the Nordic region’s leading energy innovation hub. The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) remains a key institutional partner and will be represented by two senior executives.
The programme reflects a shared ambition: to create practical, long-term bridges between African energy actors and the Nordic innovation ecosystem, with a focus on real-world solutions, operational insights, and opportunities for collaboration.
A Delegation Representing the Full Energy Value Chain
The delegation to the Vaasa Energy Week 2026, brings together leaders from offshore services, independent power development, industrial supply, procurement, energy media, and health and safety services. This broad mix mirrors the complexity of Africa’s energy landscape and ensures that the visit captures multiple angles of the transition—from infrastructure and technology to workforce development and public communication.
Each sector stands to gain distinct value from the Nordic experience:
- Offshore and marine logistics representatives will explore Nordic advances in vessel electrification, offshore wind operations, and maritime safety—areas where the region is considered a global benchmark.
- Independent power producers and EPCs will engage with companies working on grid modernisation, hybrid renewable systems, energy storage, and industrial electrification. These topics align closely with Africa’s current push to stabilise grids and expand generation capacity.
- Industrial suppliers and procurement specialists will gain direct access to Nordic manufacturers and technology providers, strengthening sourcing channels for power equipment, grid components, and industrial systems.
- SME managers and operational leaders will observe how Nordic companies structure collaboration, quality assurance, and digital project management—practices that can support more resilient operations at home.
- Energy media professionals will have the opportunity to document Nordic innovation stories, interview industry leaders, and bring new perspectives on the energy transition to African audiences.
- Health, safety, and industrial services representatives will explore Nordic approaches to occupational safety, digital monitoring, and workforce wellbeing—critical components of modern energy operations.
This sectoral diversity ensures that the delegation’s experience in Vaasa will be both broad and deeply practical.
A First-Hand Introduction to the Nordic Innovation Culture
For many delegates, Vaasa Energy Week will be their first direct encounter with the Nordic energy ecosystem. The region is known for its collaborative approach to innovation, where utilities, technology companies, research institutions, and public agencies work closely together to develop and deploy new solutions.

Through curated sessions and site visits arranged by NBP and VASEK, the delegation will gain insight into:

- How Nordic utilities manage reliability, flexibility, and digitalisation
- How companies integrate renewables into industrial processes
- How hydrogen and clean-fuel technologies are being piloted
- How training institutions support continuous workforce development
- How innovation clusters accelerate technology deployment
These experiences are designed to offer practical models that can be adapted to African contexts.
Targeted Engagements and Technical Visits
In addition to the main conference programme, the delegation will participate in a series of targeted engagements organised jointly by NBP and VASEK. These include:
- Business-to-business meetings with Nordic technology providers
- Government-to-government exchanges with regional authorities
- Visits to utilities, training centres, and energy technology companies
- Roundtable discussions with innovation clusters and research organisations
The goal is to move beyond introductions and into solution-oriented dialogue that can inform future partnerships and project development.
A Dedicated Seminar on Africa–Nordic Energy Cooperation
A key highlight of the week will be the joint seminar hosted by NBP and NAPTIN:
“Powering Africa’s Energy Transition: From Access to Industry – From Potential to Market”

The session will bring together policymakers, utilities, training institutions, technology companies, and investors from both regions. Discussions will focus on:
- Grid development and system planning
- Renewable energy integration
- Workforce training and institutional capacity building
- Technology transfer and co-development
- Industrial competitiveness and clean-fuel pathways
The seminar is open to all Energy Week participants, and organisers encourage interested stakeholders to register early.

Building Bridges That Last Beyond the Event
For NBP, the delegation’s visit is part of a broader effort to strengthen cooperation between Nordic and African energy institutions. By facilitating direct exposure, structured dialogue, and targeted matchmaking, the programme aims to create the conditions for partnerships that extend well beyond the event itself.
With the delegation’s first visit to Vaasa approaching, expectations are high. The week promises not only technical insights but also the kind of professional relationships and shared understanding that form the foundation of durable international cooperation.
